Smut

Smut formed in 1990. Originally a 4 piece band consisting of the current members, Dawn M on guitar, Estelle T. on drums and Germaine W. filling out the rhythm section on bass, along with Germaine G. handling the main vocal duties. With this lineup, the band released the 7" Wall of Hate on the famed Mpls. punk label, Profane Existence Records. The band then signed with Spanish Fly and recorded another 7", Goodness/ No Grief, helping to get the band on the road prior to the release of their debut full-length release, Blood, Smut & Tears. Spanish Fly releases this relentless powerful CD in January of '95. Shortly there after, vocalist Germaine G. got married and decided to call it quits.

This turn of events didn't dampen the spirits for too long, as the rest of the band has not lost a step. After some regrouping and writing some new material, the band hit the road, in support of Blood, Smut & Tears. The band still performed most of the songs on the record, with Dawn and Estelle taking on vocal duties.

The extensive touring schedule helped solidify this newly discovered trio and they began working on their follow-up to Blood, Smut and Tears. They went into AmRep Studios again with Tim Mac, like Babes in Toyland among others, and proceeded to hammer out 11 songs with a title we like to call Secret Center. These songs have a sound that feels like a tighter unit, communication better than ever to bring their strong, unforgiving message to you.

Smut hold back nothing on this record and neither should you.
